On Sunday (Sept. 22), Debra Messing will be a presenting Emmy statuettes at "The 54th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards." She might also be taking one home.
The "Will & Grace" star has received three consecutive nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, but has yet to win. "I have been invited to this party a couple of times, and it is still mind-blowing to me that I am here," she says. "It's a dream come true."
Messing is keeping cool by expecting the worst and hoping for the best. "Right now I'm not nervous," she explains. "I've convinced myself that there's no chance that my name is going to be called."
If she does win for her role on the NBC comedy, she has arranged for her biggest fans to be sitting in the Shrine Auditorium audience. "For the first time ever, I'm bringing my parents," says Messing.
"The 54th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards" ceremony will be broadcast on NBC Sunday, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. ET. Connick Is Mr. Right for 'Grace' >> |
