It may seem difficult to believe, but John Stossel reports tonight
that beautiful people have easier lives than unattractive people.
If that is not shocking enough, apparently women prefer to date tall
men. To prove these wild theories, "20/20" sets up a series of tests,
using a very attractive actor and an average-looking actor to apply
for jobs, ask for roadside assistance, etc. to see who has better
results. They may be onto something here.

New York City’s High School for Leadership and Public Service is only
one block away from where the World Trade Center once stood. On Sept.
11, 2001 horrified students and faculty watched the attacks first
hand. Despite the obvious risk, Principal Ada Dolch evacuated the
school and led her staff and 500 students to New York’s Battery Park,
a half a mile away. Jane Pauley interviews Dolch, members of her faculty
and students about the events of that day and how they have coped
since.

Actress Martha Plimpton received an Emmy nomination for her portrayal
of a woman who hides a horrifying family secret. When a heroin addict
(Plimpton) is the victim of sexual assault, a search of her purse
reveals a decomposing baby's finger. As the detectives search for
the rapist and the baby's identity, they become suspicious of the
victim's icy mother (Mary Steenburgen).
