New Nominees on 'Big Brother 3'

It's Saturday, July 20, Lori is gone and Marcellas is the new HOH on "Big Brother 3." The alliance of six, so powerful last week, is in turmoil. They try to figure out which one of them did not vote for Lori. (Josh actually kept his word to Lori, having sworn on the love of his girlfriend.) Gerry has defected, feeling that being alpha weasel was not as fulfilling as being BB3's wacky spiritual guru. It's time for the nominations. But first?

Having not been asked to don a swimsuit in the last 12 hours, the houseguests decide that it is time for a beauty pageant, emceed by Amy. Marcellas and Danielle do not participate, once again demonstrating that they are the smartest houseguests.

Chiara, Lisa and Tonya spend hours making flower bikinis, which fall apart the first time they try them on. They then hit upon the idea of attaching the flowers with peanut butter, only to learn why this is not a nationwide fad when the peanut butter melts almost immediately. The men watch with a newfound appreciation of sandwich spread, but Jason confesses that he feels uncomfortable. (Collective "aww" from the audience.)

Eric, Jason, Josh, Roddy and Gerry (why, God, why?) competed for the title of King of "Big Brother 3." Thankfully, the men did not use peanut butter, instead, they fashioned loincloths out of household objects. Roddy won by covering his family jewels with a photo of Marcellas. Chiara was crowned his Queen. Roddy and Chiara have another awkward romantic interlude and exchange a kiss. (Collective "ehh" from the audience.)

Speaking of public humiliation, it's time for the food challenge. Danielle, Tonya, Eric, Gerry and Chiara are on one team; Roddy, Josh, Jason, Amy and Lisa are on the other. Each person is weighed, then told to eat their way through a house of brownies without using their hands. The object of the game is for one team to gain the most weight in 15 minutes.

Stepping on a scale on national television cannot be good for these women, by the way. In other words, Ladies, start your eating disorders.

Roddy advises his team that drinking the water and milk provided to wash down the brownies will add the most weight the fastest. Jason follows his advice and ends up gaining the most weight. Josh is evil and cheats by putting food in his pockets. Of course he is caught, as he is also a total moron. Even with Josh's total deducted, Roddy's team wins. The losing team will be eating peanut butter and jelly for the rest of the week. Or wearing it, depending on how bored they get.

After the game, Marcellas declares Josh "the vilest human being ever." Josh picks this as his moment to approach Marcellas in the HOH room. He knows he's a sitting duck (and not a rubber one) and suggests Marcellas nominate Gerry and "let the chips fall where they may." He then promises Marcellas that he will never nominate or vote for him, which would seem to violate the chip-falling agreement.

On a roll, Josh confronts Danielle about her alliance with Gerry. She wisely refuses to talk with him about this subject, but does admit that she knows about Josh's position of power in the house. Not wanting to break his fabulous lying streak, Josh denies any and all knowledge of any power over the alliance. He adds that he was not involved in nominating Marcellas, at which point, the "Big Brother 3" editing room rolls the clip of Josh first suggesting to evict Marcellas.

Now it's Marcellas' turn, and he discusses his philosophy behind the nominations. He feels that Roddy is a threat in the long run, but decides to base his choices on "emphasizing humanity," which cannot mean good things for Josh.

Danielle tries to convince Marcellas to nominate Gerry, but he reminds her that the most important goal of the moment is breaking up the alliance, so only alliance members will be nominated. When Danielle mentions that she talked to Josh, Marcellas cuts her off immediately, telling her not to believe a word Josh says. Off camera in the editing room, the "Big Brother 3" video clip department nods in agreement.

Marcellas nominates Josh and Tonya, telling Josh that he is a "disruptive influence" in the house. He tells Tonya that she had to be "the pawn," which relieves her somewhat. Lest we forget, the now-evicted Lori was assured last week that she was not intended for the chopping block. As Marcellas and Josh exchange words, Marcellas admits that his nomination of Josh was personal, but had nothing to do with the alliance or his nomination. Meow.

On Wednesday, find out who wins veto power, and if they save Josh or Tonya.
